Werder Bremen v Shaktar Donesk

Its the UEFA Cup final this Wednesday from Fenerbahce’s home ground Sukru Saracoglu Stadium which sees Bundesliga’s Werder Bremen taking on the Russian Might of Shaktar Donesk.

Interestingly, both these teams are in the final after dropping out of the Champions League.  Since defeating AC Milan in the earlier rounds, the majority of the money has been put on the German club and it will be interesting to see if they live up to their billing as favourites at 6/4. Shaktar themselves can feel pretty proud of their achivement, as they’ve  come through some potential banana skins pretty easily, defeating Tottenham 3-1 and Marseille 4-1 on the way to the final.

The big factor coming into this game however is that Bremen star man Diego will miss the final after picking up a yellow in the previous round ,and with six goals already for the German side in the competition this really is a blow. With Shaktar also only conceding five goals in their last eight UEFA Cup games it may better to oppose Bremen – Shaktar are available at a nice price of 9/5 and for us this is a stand out bet.
