This is it – Judgement day for the Toon!

Its been along and winding road for Newcastle and Alan Shearer but this Sunday at around 6 o clock the Toon faithfull will finally find out whether they are to once again to tread the Premiership boards or if they will be fighting  it out in the extremely competitive Championship next season.

Its seems that the bookies have already made up their minds and it looks like the thumbs down from them, with Newcastle a short 4/7 to be relegated. Of course there is the opportunity for them to stay up but in hindsight relegation may not be a bad thing for them. They have had a miserable few seasons, with the return of the first prodigal son in Kevin Keegan, and then the return of Prodigal son #2 in Alan Shearer, and lets not forget Dennis Wise and Joe Kinnear in between.

With little stability in the club and a dubious transfer system which has seen an extreme lack of any young blood coming through the ranks at St James, the next few years will be crucial, and hopefully the board will skim off the big money earners who frankly look like they are just there to top up their retirement pension funds.
